Fixing (ROI)

GENERAL

PANTILE, LOW PITCH PANTILE, DR TILE, & ‘M’ PROFILE TILE

Tiles are laid straight-bonded. All tiles at perimeters to be nailed and clipped.

For roof pitches of 55 degrees and over, all tiles to be head nailed and tail clipped in all exposure categories. For roof pitches over 45 degrees and under 55 degrees, each tile to be head nailed or tail clipped in Moderate exposure categories, each tile to be head nailed and tail clipped in Exposed and Severe exposure categories.

For roof pitches of 45 degrees and below, all tiles in alternate courses to be head nailed or tail clipped in Moderate exposure categories, and each tile to be head nailed and tail clipped in Exposed and Severe exposure categories.

SLATE TILE & BULLNOSE SLATE TILE

Tiles are laid broken-bonded. All tiles at perimeters to be nailed and clipped.

For roof pitches of 55 degrees and over, all tiles to be head nailed and tail clipped in all exposure categories.

For roof pitches over 45 degrees and under 55 degrees, each tile to be head nailed or tail clipped in Moderate exposure categories, each tile to be head nailed twice and tail clipped in Exposed and Severe exposure categories.

For roof pitches of 45 degrees and below, all tiles in alternate courses to be head nailed or tail clipped in Moderate exposure categories, and each tile to be head nailed and tail clipped in Exposed and Severe exposure categories.

SENIOR SLATE & SENIOR BULLNOSE SLATE

Tiles are laid broken-bonded. All tiles at perimeters to be nailed and clipped.

For roof pitches of 55 degrees and over, all tiles to be head nailed and tail clipped in all exposure categories.

For roof pitches over 45 degrees and under 55 degrees, each tile to be head nailed or tail clipped in Moderate exposure categories, each tile to be head nailed and tail clipped in Exposed and Severe exposure categories.

For roof pitches of 45 degrees and below, all tiles in alternate courses to be head nailed or tail clipped in Moderate exposure categories, and each tile to be head nailed and tail clipped in Exposed and Severe exposure categories.

THE CONDRON SLATE

Tiles are laid broken-bonded. All tiles at perimeters to be nailed and clipped.

For roof pitches of 55 degrees and over, all tiles to be head nailed and tail clipped in all exposure categories.

For roof pitches over 45 degrees and under 55 degrees, each tile to be head nailed or tail clipped in Moderate exposure categories, each tile to be head nailed and tail clipped in Exposed and Severe exposure categories.

For roof pitches of 45 degrees and below, all tiles in alternate courses to be head nailed or tail clipped in Moderate exposure categories, and each tile to be head nailed and tail clipped in Exposed and Severe exposure categories.

CONCRETE 3 IN 1 TILE / CLADDING TILE

All perimeter tiles at rafter pitches to 45 degrees, to be fixed with 2 No. 40mm 9 gauge aluminium nails, (1 No. nail at each other edge per tile) and at least every tile in every fifth course to be nailed with 2 No. 40mm 9 gauge aluminium nails (1 No. nail at each other edge per tile). For rafter pitches of 45 degrees and above and on exposed roofs, every tile in every course to be fixed with 2 No. 40mm aluminium nails (1 No. nail at each other edge of tile).

CONCRETE PLAIN TILE / CLADDING TILE

All perimeter tiles, to a minimum of 600mm wide / deep on rafter pitch below 45 degrees to be fixed with 1 No. 40mm 9 gauge aluminium nail per tile, and every tile in every fifth row to be fixed with 1 No. 40mm 9 gauge aluminium nail per tile. For rafter pitches of 45 degrees and over and on exposed roofs, every tile in every course to be fixed with 1 No. 40mm aluminium nail per tile.

NOTES:

  • For roof pitches below 22.5 degrees and on exposed sites, consideration should be given to the design of the roof, and designers and users should contact our technical sales office for advice. Refer to our ‘Constructing a waterproof underlay system’ guide and video guide.
  • Use nails and clips supplied by Condron Concrete.
  • Tile fixing must comply with SR 82: 2017: Slating & Tiling – Code of practice.
  • At verges, Condron Concrete dry verge systems can be used as one of the two required fixings, ie, in place of tail clips.
