Condron Dry Ridge System Installation Guide
Application
The Condron Dry Ridge System is designed for use with Condron Concrete tiles and slates incorporating a Universal Ridge Union. The system is supplied in 5 metre packs with all components included.
The system ensures that the ridge tiles are secured to resist the highest predicted wind speeds and provides high level roof space ventilation in compliance with BS 5250.
Components:
Universal Ridge Union
Ridge Batten Strap
Ventilated Ridge Roll
120mm A2 Torx headed screw with sealing washer and plate.
1. Lay the underlay in the normal way and set back the topcourses 30mm from the apex on each side.
2. Install a sufficient height of 50 x 25mm ridge battens toensure that the ridge screws penetrate the ridge battens by at least 40mm. Wrap the ridge batten strap over the ridge battens and fix to the rafters using minimum two 25mm clout head nails on each side, including nailing as close to ridge battens as possible. Set straps at maximum 600mm centres.
3. Set the tile battens to suit the tile gauge, ensuring that the top course batten is positioned to enable a minimum 75mm head lap of the ridge tiles over the top course tiles.
4. Install the tiles. Lay the ridge roll centrally over the ridge batten. Remove the paper backing and dress the ridge roll neatly onto the top course tiles. When joining ridge roll, the overlap must be at least 75mm.
5. Set the ridge tiles centrally over the ridge batten and secure using a ridge union, screw with sealing washer, and plate between each ridge tile. At junctions such as gable ends, hips, abutments, etc, drill the outer end of the ridge tile and secure using a screw and sealing washer. Finish at gable ends with a ridge end cap.
